III Annual interdisciplinary scientific and practical conference with international participation “Cerebral palsy and other movement disorders in children” was held on October 31 – November 1, 2013 in Moscow.
This forum was held under the auspices of the Department of Health of the City of Moscow with the support of the Russian Society of Neurologists, Scientific and Practical Center for Child Psychoneurology, Institute of Innovative Rehabilitation, Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Moscow City Pedagogical University, the National Association of Experts on Cerebral Palsy and charity organization for children with cerebral palsy “STEP TOGETHER”.
Interest of the audience attracted session “International standards of care for children with cerebral palsy”, in particular report of prof. Hans Forssberg on application of principles of evidence-based medicine in the rehabilitation of patients with Cerebral Palsy, as well as the report of prof. Ann Christin Eliasson on Hand training programs for patients with cerebral palsy.
A special session of the conference was devoted to methods of intensive rehabilitation of children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, which was conducted by team from the International Clinic of Rehabilitation, headed by the director, prof. Volodymyr Kozyavkin.
On the eve of the conference, on October 30, 2013 Scientific and Practical Center of Pediatric psychoneurology celebrated its 30th anniversary. During its long history this specialized clinic has accumulated great experience in treating children with various disorders of the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, has formed a constantly growing team of professionals.
The official ceremony was opened by the director of the center, prof. Tatyana Batysheva, which gave the floor to the founder of the hospital, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor K.A.Semenova. The official ceremony ended with the opening of the museum of the clinic.
