4th International Cerebral Palsy Conference took place in Pisa, Italy, on October 10-13, 2012.
The conference was devoted to all aspects of cerebral palsy, from early diagnosis to standards of care and to new therapeutical approaches.
More than six hundred participants (medical doctors, therapists, psychologists, students and other professionals) from all over the world attended the conference.
Special lectures have been dedicated to the opportunities offered by recent advances of research in Neuroscience. Contribution for understanding and treating Cerebral Palsy from animal models, genetics, stem cells, cognitive neuroscience has been discussed. The new framework provided by ICF approach, with a special attention to the quality of life, was also taken into account, especially in relation to transition to adulthood.
The conference includes keynote lectures, workshops, symposia, breakfast instructional courses, oral communications and posters around the topics of the conference.
International Clinic of Rehabilitation presented its experience in using virtual reality technologies in motor rehabilitation at the Instructional course and presented a preliminary study of the system’s benefits as a poster.
